About Me
Introduction
Hi! I’m Jacqueline Roberts, a qualified teacher located in the Annapolis Valley. I am looking for work in the education field. Currently, I work as a substitute teacher. In 2017, I taught English as a Second Language in Shanghai, China for a semester as part of my BEd. (You can see my full resume here). I completed my Bachelor of Education – Secondary Education at Acadia University. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University where I majored in English and minored in Geography and Psychology.
Cadets
I am a proud member of the Cadet Instructors Cadre. This is a branch of the Canadian Forces that delivers that Royal Canadian Air, Army and Sea Cadet Programs. I am a graduate of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. While I was a cadet I took advanced courses in leadership and instruction. Now, I work primarily in the training department. My job includes ensuring that a training schedule is created and followed, monitoring instruction, mentoring cadets and staff and teaching. I spend my summers working at the Greenwood Cadet Training Center. I work in the survival department where I teach teenagers how to survive in the woods.
Volunteer Work
I previously volunteered at the Free Spirit Therapeutic Riding Association, a program for those with social, emotional, physical or cognitive needs.
I have also volunteered with cadet units in my surrounding areas providing my expertise in leadership, instruction and wilderness survival. Personally, I act as an instructor or facilitator during senior cadet training days or field training exercises.
Interests
I play the tenor saxophone (and am looking for a community band!), participate in National Novel Writing Month every November, read books, camp and hike.
Look around and feel free to contact me!
